Body of Offaly man found 'in a drain by burnt-out caravan'

Gardaí are investigating after a man's body was discovered in Co Offaly today.

The remains of the man, aged in his 40s, was found at around 8.45am this morning in Kilbride in Clara.

It is understood his body was found in a drain on open ground beside a burnt-out caravan.

The scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination and the State Pathologist has arrived at the scene.
