Court charges man with murder in St Stephen's Day stabbing

A man has appeared before Bray District Court charged in connection with a fatal stabbing on St. Stephen's Day.

A man has appeared before Bray District Court charged in connection with a fatal stabbing on St. Stephen's Day.

32-year-old Wayne Kennedy, with an address at 52 Rathsallagh Park in Dublin, was charged with murder and assault causing harm.

The court heard that when charged on both counts Wayne Kennedy replied "No".

Free legal aid was granted and he has been remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhilll district court on Friday January 3, 2014.

Wayne Kennedy's solicitor made a request for his client to receive medical attention and free legal aid, both were granted.

He also asked that Wayne Kennedy be remanded to Mountjoy instead of Cloverhilll. Judge David Kennedy said that decision would be made at a later stage by the governor of Cloverhill.
