Two men are to appear in court this morning following the discovery of an oil laundering plant in Co Meath yesterday.

It follows a joint operation between Revenue's Customs Service and Gardaí at Macetown.

The plant had the capacity to launder approximately 3 million litres of fuel per annum - with a potential annual loss to the Exchequer of €1.5m.

A quantity of fuel, ancillary equipment and three vehicles were seized during the operation.

Two men, aged 19 and 20, have been charged in connection with the incident and will appear before Navan District Court at 10.30am this morning.
