Committee launches new immunisation guidelines
New guidelines on the immunisation of children are being launched today.
The inclusion of a rota virus vaccine in the Primary Childhood immunisation programme is among the new recommendations.
Rota virus is the most common cause of gastroenteritis in young children.
The whooping cough vaccine is also being advised for every pregnant woman between 27 and 36 weeks.
The recommendations are being made by the National Immunisation Advisory Committee.
