There are concerns for 500 jobs at a Dublin pharma plant.

Staff at Merck pharmaceuticals in Swords have been called to a series of meetings with management this afternoon.

It is understood the plant is to be either sold or closed, however the company has declined to comment.

Merck employs 500 people at the north Dublin plant.
