Two men carrying a gun stormed the shop on Aungier Street and threatened staff before escaping with a quantity of jewellery, including three trays of gold rings.

One of the raiders is described as being well over six foot, wearing a blue balaclava, a sleeveless hi-viz jacket and a blue hooded top.

The second is described as being about five foot ten, wearing a blue hard hat and a hi-vis jacket.

They are both thought to be in their late 20s or early 30s and made their escape in a stolen Grey Opel Astra which was later found abandoned on Aungier Lane.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Pearse Street Garda Station 01 6669000 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
