Dublin man sees all charges dropped in manslaughter case

Charges have been dropped against one of the men accused of the manslaughter of a man who went missing from East Wall in Dublin over two years ago.

Ciaran Noonan who was living in Ashbourne, Co Meath - but originally from the East Wall area - was last seen getting into a car at Russell Avenue, on October 20, 2011.

The remains of the 29-year-old were discovered a fortnight later in a field about six miles outside Trim in Co Meath.

David Geraghty (aged 27) from Coolock Drive, Coolock was due to go on trial today charged with his false imprisonment and manslaughter but Brendan Grehan, prosecuting, entered a nolle prosequi meaning that both charges against Mr Geraghty have been dropped.

Co-accused, 24-year-old Daniel Quinn of Brega, Balbriggan, Dublin has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and is due to be sentenced on January 23, as is 34-year-old Lynn Isaacson from Lighthouse Apartments, Church Road, East Wall, who has pleaded guilty to conspiring in the false imprisonment of Mr Noonan.

Another co-accused, 36-year-old Mark Allen of Wellview Avenue, Mulhuddart in Dublin was not before court today and a bench warrant is outstanding for his arrest.
