Surge in weapons seized by customs agents

There has been a surge in the number of illegal weapons and ammo being seized by customs.

Handguns, machetes, revolvers, cans of tear gas and even an air-mortar bomb are among the items already confiscated this year by Dublin Airport and mail centres around the country.
