Former police officer escape unhurt from attempted bombing
A former police officer and his 12-year-old daughter have escaped uninjured after a booby trap bomb was discovered in Belfast.
He discovered the bomb after checking under his car in the Kingsway Park area of Dundonald before taking his child to school.
The North's First Minister Peter Robinson has described those who planted it as "Neanderthals".
Chief Superintendent Nigel Grimshaw says there are those out there intent to kill or maim.
He also said that the presence of the 12-year-old in close proximity to the device added "a very significant and stark element" to the story.
