Met Éireann has issued a gale warning for parts of the country.

The Irish Ferries 'Jonathan Swift fast craft' sailings have been cancelled for today due to adverse weather conditions.

A gale 'orange status marine warning' has been issued by Met Eireann.

Customers with valid tickets will be accommodated on the Cruise Ferry sailings which is expected to operate to schedule.

Meanwhile, Fast Craft Jonathan Swift sailings for tomorrow have been cancelled but passengers can avail of the Cruise Vessel sailings.

Met Éireann has said southwest gales or strong gales are likely on all sea areas this evening.
