HMV unveils smartphone app

HMV has unveiled a new smartphone app.

It lets users shop for music using image search and sound search technology.

The music chain - which was recently taken over - said the app works with iTunes and Windows Media library.

It was released in the UK today, and will be available here in Ireland next month.
