Government planning new law on child sex-offender register

The Government will not oppose proposals to strengthen the entitlement of parents to know if convicted child sex offenders are living in their communities - for now.

The Bill from former Fine Gael TD Denis Naughten would give parents the right to find out if anyone dealing with their child is a convicted child sex offender.
