Body of young woman found near home of missing teen

The body of a young woman has been recovered from the River Shannon at Kileely.

The body was found at Brown's Quay in the Thomondgate area of Limerick, not far from the home of Chloe Kinsella, the 15-year-old who went missing last Saturday.

Speaking to members of the search party after identifying the body, Chloe's sister Linsey thanked all those who had taken part in the search between bursts of tears.

"I never thought I'd be seeing this day," she said. "Chloe, I'm waiting for you to come home, or even ring my phone … thanks everyone who went to find her. She never knew how much she was really loved."

Divers from Limerick Marine Search and Rescue recovered the woman's body at around noon today, at which point the search for Chloe was stood down.

A large area around the banks of the River Shannon was cordoned off.
