Talks aiming to prevent doctor's strike

Junior doctors and the HSE are to hold talks at the Labour Relations Commission this morning in an effort to avert a strike planned for next Wednesday.
The Irish Medical Organisation claims junior doctors are working up to 100 hours per week - in contravention of a European directive.
Yesterday, IMO and HSE members visited two hospitals to see how many hours non-consultant doctors are rostered for.
The IMO said that it still plans to strike on Wednesday to highlight what it says is a clear breach of the EU's Working Time Directive.
