Gardaí arrest man in connection with post office raid in Cork

Gardaí have arrested a man for questioning in connection with an armed raid on a post office in North Cork earlier today.
A lone raider armed with a handgun made off with a small sum of cash after he held up the Postmaster at Banteer Post Office near Kanturk at around 11.40am.
No shots were fired during the raid and no one was injured in the robbery.
The raider, who was wearing a balaclava, made his getaway in a black Lexus parked near the post office.
The car, which had been stolen in Killarney on September 12, was found burnt out a few kilometres away.
Gardaí arrested a man in his twenties this afternoon and he has been taken to Kanturk Garda Station for questioning.
