Man dies in Clare car accident

A man has died in a road crash in Co. Clare.

The single-vehicle collision happened on the R471 Sixmilebridge to Shannon Road at around 4am this morning.

The body of the man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle and is believed to be in his late twenties, has been removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem examination will take place.

The road remains sealed off for a technical examination this morning.
