Kenny defends Irish tax regime

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has fiercely defended Ireland’s tax regime after Europe’s top competition authority launched a probe into its dealings with multinational companies.

As the European Commission confirmed Ireland was one of three countries being examined about its tax arrangements, Mr Kenny insisted the state is committed to a “transparent” system.
