'Light it Up Gold' to campaign for children's cancer

Almost 200 children are diagnosed with cancer every year in Ireland.

A group set up by parents called 'Light it Up Gold' is campaigning for the month of September in a bid to raise much needed money for children diagnosed with the disease.

Group member and mother Aoife Clarke said they are the voice for the most vulnerable.

"Children's cancer seems very rare and sometimes that rarity is perceived as it almost doesn't exist," she said.

"But there are 200 children in Ireland diagnosed with cancer and children's cancer has a much wider ripple effect in the community."
