SF repeats calls for Truth Commission in the North
Sinn Féin are again calling for a Truth Commission to investigate the deaths of people killed in the Troubles in the North.
It follows confirmation by the IRA yesterday that it was responsible for the murder of Portlaoise prison chief Brian Stack.
He is the only prison officer in the Republic to have been murdered during the Troubles.
His family have welcomed the admission, but say many questions are still unanswered.
Sinn Féin TD Brian Stanley said there is no way of knowing if that will ever happen, but that "they are significantly further on than they were [and] hopefully that helps the family."
"There's been a conflict, sadly, and people killed on all sides, we've called many times, and the Stack family is now joining that call for a Truth Commission," he said.
