Man due in court charged with manslaughter in Omagh

An 18-year-old man is due in court in the North today charged with the manslaughter of a 28-year-old man in Omagh.

Darren McBrearty died in hospital yesterday following an attack in John Street on Sunday evening.

Two other men - both in their early twenties - were also arrested in connection with the assault.

They have since been released pending further enquiries.

The death of Darren McBrearty is the second violent death in Omagh this year.

In January the body of 19-year-old Monaghan man Jason McGovern was found at his home the day after he was assaulted in Omagh.
