Exchequer returns for the first seven months of the year show tax revenues slightly up, keeping the Government's budget goals broadly on track.

Figures published this evening show a exchequer deficit of just over €5bn up to the end of July, an improvement of €3.9bn compared to the first seven months of 2012.
