Dublin technology sector has €200m potential

The technology sector in Dublin has the potential to pull in more than €200m for the economy.

That is according to a report from Dublin Chamber of Commerce who have also forecasted that up 2,800 jobs could be created by new tech start-ups in the capital.

The report has named Dublin, ahead of other European cities, as the best place for new technology companies to set up.

Patrick King of Dublin Chamber of Commerce said Ireland as a whole can benefit from Dublin being an international technological hub.

"What we want to is make sure that all of that is brought together and everyone is working together as one so Dublin can be not just the best in Ireland built the best internationally," he said.

"That eventually will spin out to companies that will go to other parts of Ireland and really help the entire economy."
