Gardaí to investigate fatal Sligo collision

Gardaí in Co Sligo are investigating a fatal collision which claimed the life of a young man.

A 22-year-old man - the sole occupant of a tractor which was pulling a trailor - was killed at Clogher in Monasteradenwhen he was struck by the trailor, at approximately 6.20pm yesterday evening.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Sligo General Hospital, where a post mortem will be carried out this morning.

The road is closed to allow gardaí to carry out a forensic examination of the scene and local diversions are in place.
