Cyber bullying reports shows Ireland is behind
A report into online bullying has found that Ireland is behind in terms of laying out guidelines for the use of social media websites.
The report - which will be published today - was commissioned to explore how cyber-bullying can be curbed following a rise in the irresponsible use of social media websites.
The document will now be given to Government with a number of recommendations such as the establishment of a single body for overseeing the use of such websites.
Chair of the communications committee who complied the report, John O'Mahoney, said that a joint effort from government, schools and businesses is needed to tackle the issue.
