New Bill set to officially allow small-scale casinos in Ireland

The Government has published the first draft of a new law which would officially allow casinos in Ireland.

The Gambling Control Bill published today will limit the total licenced number of gambling venues to 40.

There are already 34 licensed private members' clubs which offer gambling facilities to private members.

Only small-scale casinos will be permitted, however, with a maximum of 15 tables and 25 gaming machines allowed in any one venue.
