Controlled explosion of suspicious device in Antrim

A controlled explosion has taken place on a suspicious object in Co Antrim.

The object was found near a railway bridge in the Glenville Road area of Whiteabbey.

A British Army Bomb disposal team has just blown up the device, and is now carrying out follow-up investigations.

A number of nearby homes have been evacuated, and train services in the area have been stopped.
