Two to appear in court in connection with dissident republican activity

Two men are to appear before the Special Criminal Court this evening charged in connection with dissident republican activity in the Louth - Meath area.

The men - aged 30 and 49 - were detained on Monday in Castlebellingham and in Navan as part of an on-going investigation.

They are due before a special sitting of the court at 6pm.

Two others - a 43-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man - were also detained.

The woman has since been released without charge.
