Dean Fitzpatrick laid to rest in Fingal
The funeral has taken place in Dublin of Dean Fitzpatrick.
The 23-year-old's mother Audrey was unable to attend after she took ill last night.
More than 150 family and friends of Dean Fitzpatrick gathered at the Church of the Holy Trinity to say their final farewells to the 23-year-old.
His father Christopher was flanked by Dean’s partner Sarah as well as his own family.
Friends of Dean brought up a number of gifts to the altar including weights, his baseball cap and a bicycle.
During his homily, Father Eoin McCrystal told the congregation that Dean was a proud father to his son and doted on him and that he was devastated when his sister Amy went missing in Spain.
He also had a message for Dean’s friends – to not be afraid to talk about their feelings, whether it’s amongst themselves, to family or a professional.
Dean’s father and his friends carried his coffin out of the church to Emeile Sande’s "Read All About It".
He has been laid to rest at Fingal Cemetery.
