Cork Gardaí arrest six in mortgage fraud probe

Gardaí in Cork have arrested six people in Cork in connection with a €1m mortgage fraud scam.
The men and women were arrested by members of the fraud squad in Anglesea Street in Cork and the Organised Crime Unit.
The six were allegedly sourcing mortgages from banks using false documents like P-60s and driving licences under false names.
Gardaí were alerted to the "extremely elaborate" scam when banks made contact with them.
A number of houses and offices were raided this morning and the six arrested can be held for up to seven days.
