Chemical made safe by Army Bomb Disposal Team in Dublin
An Army Bomb Disposal Team has this evening made safe a quantity of unstable chemical at a secondary school in North Dublin.
The team were called to Loreto College in Balbriggan following a request from the Gardaí.
They removed the chemical, which is known as Brady's re-agent from the school lab.
It was made safe by a controlled explosion and the scene was declared safe at 6.40pm.
Brady's re-agent is routinely used in laboratories around the country and can become unstable over time.
