Man, 27, arrested in connection with Cork manslaughter
Gardaí investigating the manslaughter of a homeless man whose body was found in a refuse chute in Cork last week have arrested a 27 year old man.
Detectives detained the suspect in Cork city centre at around 5.30pm and brought him to the Bridewell Garda Station for questioning about the death of Liam Manley.
Gardai had to use dental records to identify Mr Manley who was originally from Bakers' Road in Gurranebraher in Cork but had been living with the Simon Community for years.
Officers believe that Mr Manley's body may have been in the chute for between one and two days when he was found last Monday week.
Mr Manley was last seen alive on Friday May 10 but Gardai are still trying to piece together his last known movements.
