Courts take shorter holidays to deal with case backlog
The Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal will sit through September this year, because of exceptionally long delays.
The country's highest courts will take shorter holidays to try to reduce the waiting time for cases, with delays of up to four years in the Supreme Court and more than a year for the Court of Appeal.
The Chief Justice Susan Denham said it is a pro-active measure to tackle significant delays before appeals are heard.
