Wallace to lodge complaint over Shatter's 'abuse of powers'

The Independent TD Mick Wallace will make a complaint to the Standards in Public Office Commission over the Justice Minister.

His complaint comes after Alan Shatter accused the Wexford TD of having points wiped from his licence.

Mr Wallace says he does not recall the alleged incident and says it represents a serious abuse of the Minister’s powers and a breach of the Code of Conduct for Office Holders.

Fianna Fáil's Justice Spokesperson Niall Collins is also calling on the Minister to make a statement on the matter as soon as possible.

He says Alan Shatter's use of sensitive information for political purposes is a very serious issue.
