Almost quarter of a million Childline calls unanswered in 2012

Nearly 800,000 calls were made to Childline last year, but more than a third went unanswered.

In total, the organistion managed to deal with more than 530,000 calls from children in 2012, with the majority relating to abuse and welfare issues.
