It is thought the man may have been the victim of a hit and run.

At around 10pm last night, the man's body was discovered on the main Limerick road in Ennis Co. Clare.

He was found at Tobarteascáin near St. Flannan's college in the town and is thought to be in his mid-20s

Gardaí believe he was the victim of a hit and run incident.

The man's body remains at the scene this morning, which has been sealed off for a forensic examination.
