LRC chief briefs Howlin on Croke Park II progress
The head of the Labour Relations Commission, Kieran Mulvey is briefing the Public Expenditure Minister this evening on how the Croke Park II talks are progressing.
Kieran Mulvey said that he has agreement in principle from some groups - however other unions remain at odds with the public sector savings proposed in the plan.
Unions representing doctors and nurses are still locked in talks at the LRC this evening.
It proposed that half of the €300m in savings being sought - should come from the health service.
While there has been progress with some groups - Kieran Mulvey said that others are more complex.
"Hopefully we will be in a position to get agreement with all groups, obviously that's our objective," he said.
"But that's still a hard road to go with certain groups because of the complexity and the level of ask involved."
