The Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan has rejected criticisms by the Garda Ombudsman that the force failed to co-operate with an investigation into alleged links between officers and a convicted drug dealer.

Callinan says he greatly regrets the publication of details of the report by the commission this afternoon - and says he has been asked by the Justice Minister Alan Shatter to respond to the findings.
