The Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan has rejected criticisms by the Garda Ombudsman that the force failed to co-operate with an investigation into alleged links between officers and a convicted drug dealer.

Nine Garda officers were prosecuted last year for offences including assault, perverting the course of justice and false imprisonment, it was revealed today.
