A 30-year-old man is being questioned after gardaí found a gun and drugs worth more than €20,000 at a house in Dublin.

A 30-year-old man is being questioned after gardaí found a gun and drugs worth more than €20,000 at a house in Dublin.

Officers carried out a planned search of a house in Poppintree in Dublin 11 yesterday.

They seized a 9mm pistol, eight rounds of ammunition, and a quantity of drugs thought to be worth €21,000.

A technical examination of the scene is being carried out.

Gardaí are holding the man - who was arrested at the scene - under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act , 1939 at Ballymun Garda Station.
