A 24 year old woman has appeared in court in Dublin accused of impeding a murder investigation.

Siobhan Whitaker,who is originally from Finglas but living in Maida Vale, London, was arrested this morning at Dublin airport coming off a flight from Luton.

Twenty-one year old Maurice Martin was found fatally stabbed at the junction of Cardiffsbridge Road and the Tolka Valley Road on June 12, 2009.

Whitaker is charged with impeding the apprehension of an individual who she knew or believed to be guilty of his murder.

The court heard the 24-year-old - who is facing trial at the Central Criminal Court - gave no reply when charged after caution but shook her head indicating 'no'.

She work a black skirt, leggings, gold sandals and a beige top.. She was close to tears when Judge David McHugh called it a very serious allegation and refused bail on the grounds she is a flight risk.

She was visiting her family from London, where she lives with her boyfriend and works with the elderly.

She has been remanded in custody to appear in court again on May 3.
