Man dies after fall in Kerry mountains

A man in his 30s has died following a fall on the McGillycuddy Reeks in Co Kerry.

He had been walking with a friend at lunchtime today when he fell at the Cumeen na Peasta ridge.

The alarm was raised just after 1.30pm and a team from Kerry Mountain Rescue was airlifted by the coastguard helicopter to area near where he fell.

His body has been taken to Tralee General Hospital.
