SIPTU reps open talks to minimise job losses and resist closure of Diageo's Waterford brewery

SIPTU representatives have begun negotiations with management at Diageo Ltd aimed at minimising job losses.

The move follows an announcement today that the company intends to cease operations at its brewery in Waterford with the loss of 36 jobs, and move operations to its St James Gate facility.
