15th anniversary of Good Friday Agreement

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Good Friday Agreement.

The deal was reached after nearly two years of talks chaired by US Senator George Mitchell.

The Agreement led to the setting up the powersharing executive at Stormont and paved the way for the eventual handing over of IRA weapons for decommissioning.
