Cash in transit van raided at Killiney shopping centre

An armed man has escaped with an undisclosed sum of money after a raid on a cash in transit van in south Dublin.

The van was at Killiney shopping centre shortly after 10am this morning when the man, who was armed with what appeared to be a gun, approached and threatened a worker.

He seized the cash box, and made off in a red Peugot-type van in the direction of Blackrock on Rochestown Avenue.

No shots were fired and no-one was injured.

Gardaí have launched an investigation.
