Sean FitzPatrick has revealed he paid the school and college fees of children whose parents were employed by Anglo Irish Bank.

The former bank chairman is giving evidence at the High Court for the first time since the banking collapse.

He has told the Court he paid university fees out of his own money, as a gift to Anglo personnel.

FitzPatrick is giving evidence in relation to his bankruptcy proceedings, and has told the Judge: "I never made an investment that I didn't feel confident of getting back."
