Dublin MEP Gay Mitchell will not contest the European Parliament elections next year.

Dublin MEP Gay Mitchell will not contest the European Parliament elections next year.

The Fine Gael MEP - and former presidential candidate - made the announcement in Strasbourg today, saying now is a good time to allow new candidates to emerge.
