Praise for gardaí as figures show over 4,000 arrests in connection with burglaries
Over four thousand people have been arrested during the last year as part of a clamp down on burglaries.
New figures show that by the end of February 4,226 arrests were made and 2,327 people charged under Operation Fiacla.
The scheme - mounted in February 2012 - has resulted in a 10 per cent reduction in robberies in Dublin alone.
The Justice Minister Alan Shatter is praising what he describes as a proactive and targeted approach by gardaí.
