Former Cork politician due in court charged with soliciting someone to kill

A former politician is due to appear before Cork District Court later this morning, charged with soliciting someone to kill a garda, a revenue official and an accountant.

The man, who's in his 30s, was arrested last week and was being questioned by Gardaí at Gurranebraher Garda Station.

He was charged last night and is due to appear in court at 10.30am this morning.
