Irish nanny Aisling McCarthy Brady is due back in court in the US today.

The 34-year-old from Co Cavan is charged with violently assaulting Rehma Sabir on her first birthday, at the baby’s home in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Rehma later died in hospital in Boston.

Ms McCarthy Brady is due to appear before Cambridge District Court later for a pre-trial hearing.

A spokesperson for the District Attorney's office has said they are still waiting on the results of the autopsy.

Brady was employed as a nanny for the last six months by entrepreneur Sameer Sabir, the baby’s father and his wife Nada Siddiqui, who is originally from Karachi, Pakistan. The couple moved from London to the US.
