SF Dublin councillors call for water services to remain in local govt remit

Sinn Féin Dublin City councillors are to table an emergency motion at today's monthly council meeting in opposition to the Water Services Bill.

The new legislation will see water meters and charges imposed on every home in the country.

The councillors are calling on the Government not to proceed with the Bill and to retain water services as a function of local government.
